About me
Daniel Piggott-Stewart (he/him), Pg. Dip in Counselling & Psychotherapy from CCPE (accredited by UKCP, registered member MBACP).
I’m a fully qualified, integrative transpersonal psychotherapist, who works with adults online and also in-person in London, UK. I hold a current and clear DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service), and abide by UKCP and BACP ethical frameworks.
Psychotherapy with me is creative, compassionate, and intuitive, drawing on a spectrum of psychological theories in service to the diversity of each client’s needs. My influences include:
Psychodynamic: Exploring how early experiences and unconscious patterns shape current emotions and relationships.
Humanistic: Honouring the unique potential, dignity, and resilience within each individual, while holding space for their authentic self to emerge.
Existential: Exploring life’s big questions (meaning, freedom, and mortality) while navigating the challenges of living with purpose in an uncertain world.
Liberation: Acknowledging the role of systemic oppression and empowering clients to reclaim their voice, agency, and connection to community.
Transpersonal: Bridging the personal and the spiritual, using creative space to explore experiences of awe, interconnectedness, and deeper meaning.
Before becoming a therapist, I trained and worked in journalism, public relations, and fintech. These experiences deeply shaped my understanding of the world, exposing me to the systemic injustices and societal pressures that contribute to emotional and psychological suffering. This also deepened my commitment to bearing witness to the pain of others with tenderness and compassion, while recognising the broader contexts that shape our individual struggles.
Areas of Expertise
I have extensive experience working with clients who face challenges related to:
Trauma: Engaging with the diverse dimensions of trauma, including acute, chronic, complex, developmental, secondary (vicarious), and transgenerational experiences. This work acknowledges the nuances of trauma, creating space for compassionate exploration, insight, and transformation.
Neurodivergence: Providing tailored support for individuals navigating ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and other neurodevelopmental differences. Together, we can explore the unique challenges you face, develop strategies to navigate them, and build a deeper appreciation for your strengths and how they shape your life.
Relationships: Supporting clients in exploring relational dynamics, whether within monogamy, polyamory, or non-traditional relationships. This includes addressing issues like communication, boundaries, trust, jealousy, or navigating societal and personal expectations in relationships.
LGBTQ+ Identity (Sexuality & Gender): Offering affirming support for transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive individuals navigating gender identity, expression, dysphoria, euphoria, and transition-related concerns. As well as challenges related to sexual orientation, including intimacy, shame, stigma, sexual health, authenticity, coming out, and navigating relationships within and outside of the LGBTQ+ community.
Trauma Related to Sexual Abuse: Providing sensitive, trauma-informed support to explore the multifaceted impacts of sexual abuse. This work honours the complexity of your experience, creating space for resilience, integration, and the possibility of transformation beyond conventional frameworks of healing.
Systemic Oppression & Marginalization: Offering support to clients navigating the emotional toll of systemic injustices, including racism, classism, ableism, and other forms of marginalisation, while fostering empowerment and healing.
Workplace Challenges & Burnout: Creating space to navigate the pressures of workplace demands, capitalism, and burnout. This work invites reflection on how these forces impact your well-being, offering a place to explore balance, reclaim meaning, and connect with what truly sustains you.
Climate Anxiety & Grief (& Polycrisis): Supporting clients in navigating ecological uncertainty, rage, and grief by creating a space to honor heartbreak as a vital response to the suffering of our world. This work invites us to stay present with pain, embracing it as a testament to our connection with life and each other. Together, we explore ways to sit with uncertainty, deepen our relationship with the natural world, and find meaning in our shared vulnerability.
Misogyny: Providing a space to explore the profound (and often insidious) impacts of misogyny, including societal pressures, internalised struggles, and experiences of harm, such as prejudice, domestic violence, discrimination, self-harm, and abuse. This work invites deep reflection and supports the process of acknowledging, grieving, and transforming the ways misogyny shapes our inner and relational worlds.
Parental & Family Dynamics: Providing a space to explore and work through issues related to your relationship with parents, guardians, etc., including intergenerational dynamics, unmet needs, and the lasting impacts of early caregiving experiences. This work invites understanding, healing, and the possibility of reshaping these relationships (internally or externally) on your own terms.
Psychedelic Integration: Offering support in integrating the insights and challenges that arise from altered states of consciousness. This process honours the depth of these experiences, exploring how they resonate with your life, relationships, and sense of meaning without rushing to resolution or closure.
Transpersonal: Exploring the spiritual and transcendent dimensions of your inner world with curiosity and creativity. This work holds space for the mystery and depth of these experiences, inviting them to enrich your understanding of self, others, and the interconnectedness of life.
Psycho-Spiritual Crisis or Emergence: Supporting clients through spiritual awakenings, existential crises, or moments of profound transformation. This work honors the upheaval and possibility inherent in these experiences, creating space for them to unfold and integrate in ways that resonate with your unique journey.
